Every editor probably has some working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. It is the swiss army knife of all things image and graphic. It can make graphic elements and lower thirds, convert images from CMYK to RGB, create alpha channels for logos and many, many other tasks that and editor might face on a daily basis. There’s no shortage of Photoshop books, dvd, podcasts and tutorials out on the web and a Google search will reveal hours and days of things to learn to make your photoshop skills better. One great site to check out is this collection of links to 60 Photoshop tutorials. They run the gamut of techniques such as text effects all the way up to digital painting. There’s something here to keep one busy for hours. THanks to FCP Producer for pointing to this handy post.
