Today Peter Jackson posted, as promised, the second official theatrical trailer for his HFR rendering of Tolkien's original Middle-earth masterpiece. This is also Tolkien Week, so if this version of the trailer is not enough for you, head over to the Warner Bros. promotion site and mix and match from five alternate trailer endings that can be shared via social media. Note that the high-frame-rate effect is muted by the limits of Web playback. One suspects the trailer will not be shown widely in 48fps either, since most theaters can't yet handle projection of the format. The studio also announced in August that the film will be shown in its HFR original form only in select markets.
