Is there room for yet another forced perspective short film that gives viewers a fresh take on a grand city? "The idea behind the extension of the tilt-shift technique is for focus and distance to be something the viewer can experience," says filmmaker Keith Loutit of "The Lion City," his recent addition to the genre that adds blur to the mix and at times looks like something from another planet. "[The technique] also doubles to communicate the constant heat and humidity that hits you whenever you leave the comfort of air conditioning" and head outside to Singapore's streets, he says.
