I realize that our readers live across the U.S. and the world, but if you happen to be in my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, this Tuesday, October 2, you might be interested in a local event for transitioning post types. Click on over and check out the CineFlow Expo, hosted by CineSys Oceana, in partnership with Quantum. The 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm event will feature a number of exhibitors who will show their products and answer questions about digital media and digital workflows from a production, post-production and engineering standpoint. A highlight of the day will be three panel discussions beginning at 4:00 pm with a production workflow panel. I'll be part of the 5:30 post-production workflow panel. There's also an engineering based panel at 7:00 pm.

It's all free, and since this type of thing isn't something we get around here too often, please come out and support it. I'd like to think that strong interest and demand could mean more of this kind of thing coming to town in the future. If you're based in the vicinity and don't get out to NAB, this could be a good time to ask some questions and sit in on some good discussions. Here's a PDF link to the rundown of the event if you want to get a better idea of what's in store for the day.

The official information about the CineFlow Digital Media Workflow Expo is here, including full schedules, locations and a link to register. Hope we'll see you on Tuesday!
