Audio post shop bolsters their team with the addition of Laura Bermudez and Randee Bowman

New York, NY, April 29th, 2015: NY-based audio post production shop Sonic Union has expanded their business development and post production team, bringing on board industry veterans Randee Bowman and Laura Bermudez (pictured right and left above, respectively). Bowman will lead all Sonic Union business development initiatives, with Bermudez in a new role as producer, promoter, and connector.

“Randee is proving to be instrumental in her ability to help our company expand into new areas and explore future opportunities. Her fresh energy and desire to create great experiences in post-production has been warmly welcomed,” notes Sonic Union Partner Adam Barone. “Laura brings a ‘special ops’ aspect to Sonic Union with her prior background as a freelance editor, and being well-regarded in the business. She’s been a friend and then a client and now is part of our family,” he continues.

Bowman’s background as a sales representative for top post shops including Sound Lounge and Click 3X is amplified by her experience creating and executing marketing strategies and events for brands spanning technology, consumer services, nonprofits and creative production. The New York-native Bowman got her feet wet in the advertising space as a Junior Representative, quickly leveraging her no-nonsense work ethic and lively industry insight to elevate and extend the brands of top post companies within the industry in Head of Sales posts. In 2010, she left the industry to spend a year abroad, including working on a goat farm in southern France. After her travels, she swapped one Union Square for the other with a move to San Francisco where she delved into independent marketing and event consulting. After a number of years outside the industry, Bowman has been lured back into the world of advertising by the excitement for future growth at Sonic Union.

Notes Bowman, “I love collaborating with good people that work with high integrity and after getting to know Adam Barone and his partners, I knew that was exactly what the team at Sonic Union stood for. I’m excited to spread the word everywhere I go!”

Bermudez brings over a decade of experience as an editor on commercial and interactive projects at production, post-production and ad agencies alike. Having previously collaborated with such top shops as B-Reel, Psyop, VEVO, Decon, Bikini Edit, and Mother, Bermudez has developed a robust network of producers, editors and creatives. The proud New York City-native Bermudez sharpened her editorial chops for both film and digital while studying Film Production at Bard College. She got her start as an Assistant Editor at Version2, later working on a myriad of commercial projects at BlueRock before transitioning to freelance editorial work. She has cut notable branded pieces for the likes of Verizon, Google, Budweiser, Crayola, and Samsung among others as well as interactive work including the Kanye West short film “Cruel Summer,” which was a 7-screen installation at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Beyond being deeply entrenched in the post-production world, Bermudez is a pork enthusiast and lover of all things tropical.

Notes Bermudez, “I meet new creatives every day in my time in the edit chair, and I’ve developed some great friendships through the years. You start to see who makes a creative fit with likeminded or totally off-base sensibilities, but would work well together. It’s connecting those talents that I am most excited about. I am lucky to have the opportunity to work with such great talents on all sides of the business, but being able to call them my friends, then connecting their talents with my other talented friends? That’s rad.”
