Peter Cavaciuti, Peter Robinson, Paul Edwards and Roger Tooley to Lead Five-Day UK Steadicam Gold Workshop

Want to fly like the pros who have captured some of cinema's most memorable Steadicam shots in Skyfall, Thor, Edge of Tomorrow, 47 Ronin, Shaun of the Dead and Harry Potter? Tiffen said it will bring together veteran Steadicam operators including Peter Cavaciuti, Peter Robinson, Paul Edwards and Roger Tooley to lead its five-and-a-half-day UK Steadicam Gold Workshop at Latimer Place (below) in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, from November 1–6 this fall.

Longer and more intensive than the company's previous Bronze and Silver training series, the Gold Workshop is a limited capacity, residential-only course available to the first 20 students placed. The workshop fee of £2,760 or €3,864 (about $4,470) covers room and board at Latimer Place, a former Victorian manor turned country house hotel and conference center that is 25 miles from central London and a half hour drive from Tiffen's headquarters at Pinewood Studios.

According to Tiffen's director of sales, Robin Thwaites (pictured at top), who will also be on hand during the submersive sessions, the training will combine practical approaches to blocking, choreography and grip, as well as a wide range of extended rigs and hands-free gear routinely paired with Steadicams on film and television sets. “This Gold Workshop will have an ever increasing technical approach to training, and will incorporate all of the advanced skills not generally covered on our Silver and Bronze Workshops," he said in a prepared statement. "We would advise as usual that potential attendees have a reasonable basic understanding of Steadicam to get the most from the training, but instructors will be on hand for all levels of ability.”
