The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the winners of Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards for six different achievements. 

In addition, Comcast Cable President of Technology and Product Tony Werner will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. “Over the last twenty-five years, Tony has been one of the leaders in the digital revolution in video, voice and data services in our industry delivering world-class products to consumers and companies alike,” said VP of CBS Engineering and Advanced Technology Robert P. Seidel, chairman of the NATAS Engineering Achievement Committee, in a prepared statement.

Companies to be honored with Technology & Engineering awards include the following: for Live Production technology Beyond HD to Achieve Non-Interpolated Video for Instant Replay, Evertz, EVS and FOR-A; for the Concept of Opto-Electric Transduction, Telcon (Alcatel Lucent-Submarine Networks), the Society of Telegraph Engineers (Institute of Engineering and Technology) and Siemens; for the Development and Standardization of Media Object Server Protocol, the Media Object Server Group; for a System for Executing Targeted Household Advertising on Linear Television, Invidi Technologies and Visible World; for Pioneering Invention and Deployment of Fiber Optic Cable, Corning and Bell Labs/Western Electric (OFS); and for Pioneering Technology to Automate the Digital On-Line Assembly of Broadcast Content, IBM and Laser Pacific/SCAA (Technicolor).

The 68th Annual NATAS Technology & Engineering Emmy Award will be handed out on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in a presentation at the Bellagio in Las Vegas during CES.
