System Packs Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070/1080 Graphics for Solid 90fps VR Playback

Boxx Technologies updated its GoBoxx MXL VR mobile workstation with the new Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz Kaby Lake processor and Z170 Express chipset.

Designed to support mobile virtual-reality workflow, the GoBoxx MXL VR can be outfitted with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or 1080 graphics. System RAM is expandable up to 64 GB, and the unit supports both M.2 PCIe and SATA SSDs.

Boxx said the system maintains "a seamless VR experience" at 90 fps with either graphics option installed. "GoBoxx MXL VR is a true desktop workstation replacement, designed for mobile VR deployments and built by the company that truly understands VR applications," said Boxx VP of Marketing and Business Development Shoaib Mohammad in a prepared statement.

The GoBoxx MXL VR starts at $3,581 with the i7-7700K as the standard CPU. Fully loaded with 64 GB RAM Geforce GTX 1080 graphics, and 1 TB of M.2 PCIe storage, the system price jumps to $5,455.
