The latest European creative studio to land stateside is Goodbye Kansas, a Swedish VFX and animation house with outposts in London and Hamburg. Game-industry veterans Fredrik Löving and Tobias Dahl, formerly of Battlefield and Mirror’s Edge developer DICE, will run Goodbye Kansas LA as co-studio managers.

Löving has been working in Los Angeles for the last four years building DICE LA, and Dahl comes from SEED (formerly Frostbite Labs), where he was working on a digital humans project. They have been named VP, Executive Producer and VP, Production, respectively, at the new firm.

“The Goodbye Kansas group has expanded rapidly these last two years, and the demand for our VFX and Animation services has grown especially fast within the video game industry,” said Goodbye Kansas CEO Peter Levin in a prepared statement. “Welcoming Tobias and Fredrik to our family therefore feels amazing, as it will further strengthen our offering towards these clients and also provide us with a very strong platform in the U.S.”

Goodbye Kansas’ television credits include The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead; its game credits include Biomutant and Zlatan Legends.
