Red Giant has released Universe 3.1, an update that adds three new motion-graphics animation options to its already formidable toolset.

The new tools are Numbers, which includes rendering and animation options for numbers including currency, percentages, dates and times; Array Gun, which generates animation based on grids, shapes and lines; and Progresso, which creates animated progress bars in a variety of styles. All of the tools have built-in presets to serve as starting points. That brings the number of tools in Red Giant Universe to more than 80.

Also new in this release are 35 new HUD Components presets, for a total of more than 65 base animations that can be customized.

Red Giant Universe 3.1 is priced at $199/year or $30/month. Academic subscriptions are $99/year.

Universe 3.1 runs on both Windows and OS X, and its tools are compatible with Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro X and Motion, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, HitFilm Pro and Magix Vegas Pro. For more detail on what’s supported, visit Red Giant’s Compatibility page.
