For-A debuted its new FRC-9100 at IBC, presenting a frame-rate converter that converts everything, essentially, into everything else. It’s being deployed at the 2019 World Rugby games, the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, and at new pro soccer leagues in Europe, the company said.
The FRC-9100 is designed for live broadcast, offering up to two independent channels of frame-rate conversion via 3G-SDI connectivity. UHD 4K support via SQD quad link is available as an optional software upgrade.
Input signals are supported from 525/60 and 625/50 up through 1080p/60 — with 2160p optional. Output signals range from 720p up through 1080p/60, or to 2160p/59.94 with the UHD option. The FRC-9100 supports interlace-to-progressive conversion and timecode conversion with motion compensation.
The FRC-9100 supports 16 channels of embedded audio, with 48 kHz/24-bit AES/EBU and two-channel Dolby E support available as options.
