Happy Irishman day, everybody! The new three-and-a-half-hour Martin Scorsese/Robert De Niro epic premiered for press and industry at the New York Film Festival this morning … and the word is good. Public screenings today, tomorrow, and October 13 are stand-by only, but the film opens in theaters on November 1 before taking up residence on Netflix on November 27. Until then, you can check out ILM’s de-aging work on De Niro in this expanded trailer. Rodrigo Prieto, ASC, AMC, was the cinematographer and Thelma Schoonmaker edited; Pablo Helman was the VFX supervisor.
