That’s no surprise, to those of us who have watched players in the India film/video market tend offers to Steven Spielberg and make deals with Post Logic Studios.

So think of this tidbit of news in the same light.

KEN Creative Studio is a 95-animator studio based in Chennai, India, and part of the KEN Group, a massive media conglomerate based in Bangalore. KEN just came to the U.S., with the announcement that producer/writer/director Jack Olesker, best know for creation of the “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers” TV series, has joined the new U.S.-based KEN Creative Studios as president. The U.S. offices of KEN Creative Studio will be in New Buffalo, Michigan.

It’s all about the out-sourcing, and Olesker and KEN Creative Studio CEO V.S. Sundarajan tout the quality of animators and animation studios for both global productions and outsourcing. The aim is to build a global animation team and create global co-productions.

Olesker’s task will be to deliver a slate of animated features and TV series, to be co-produced in the U.S. and India and distributed in the U.S. and internationally. The India-based KEN Creative Studios is currently at work on “NInja Knights: When Warrior Worlds Collide,” written, directed and produced by Olesker. The studio is also in post production with the pilot episode of the animated series “Hip Hop Fables.”

“In India we can produce animation at a highly competitive price and the quality is amazing,” Olesker said. “What we are producing at KEN Creative Studio compares favorably to the best animation in the industry, including Pixar and Disney. It amazes me that there has not been a U.S. television series or film produced in India before now. We will change that in short order.”

Olesker’s past credits include a stint as an executive with Dic Entertainment, writing for “The Care Bears,” “The Littles,” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” among other titles.
