Software color and finishing system sets new benchmark for post workflows

Quantel launched Pablo Rio at IBC 2012 – its new high-end color correction and finishing software. Pablo Rio blends quality and creativity in a package that delivers the productivity needed to succeed in high-end color and finishing today. It is the only high end color and finishing solution that is available as a choice of software or as a manufacturer-backed turnkey system.

Pablo Rio runs on high performance PC hardware and exploits NVIDIA Maximus multi-GPU technology to deliver true interactivity. Client-attended sessions can take full advantage of Pablo Rio’s performance and its comprehensive toolset to deliver better results on-time and without compromise.

Pablo Rio is available as software to run on the user’s own hardware and storage. It is also offered as a range of fully configured and tested turnkey configurations running on the latest PC hardware. Pablo Rio comes with the choice of the Neo or compact Neo Nano color panels, giving customers even more flexibility in how they configure their system.

Both software and turnkey systems integrate into today’s data-centric post pipelines and work across a wide range of data formats including high frame rate, Stereo3D, OpenEXR, RED HDRx, Sony F65, Arri RAW, Canon, Phantom, Silicon Image and GoPro.

“Pablo Rio has been keenly anticipated and a number of systems have already been shipped to customers around the world,” said Quantel Marketing Director Steve Owen. “Typical of the reaction is Stefan Rycken of Ace Image Factory in Brussels, who said: ‘We’re very impressed with the performance and interactivity of Pablo Rio. It makes the whole color and finishing process a truly interactive experience for the client and artist, and means that we can finish jobs faster and so get more work through the facility.’ That’s exactly what we designed the system to do!”
