When in Madrid, why not see a movie at the new Odeon Sambil multiplex? Projection and audio equipment provider Christie says the 12-plex is the first multiplex in Spain to have 4K Dolby Atmos presentation on all of its screens.

One of the screens at Madrid’s Odeon Sambil multiplex. Yes, LED lights with changing color and intensity were installed in the Vive Audio speakers.

Sambil’s two biggest screens (18 meters) have Christie Solaria CP42LH RGB laser projectors that generate up to 40,000 lumens, with the ability to scale up to 60,000 lumens by adding laser modules. The other 10 screens have Christie CP4220 and CP4230 projectors with Christie’s IMB.

All 514 of the speakers installed at Odeon Sambil, including ceiling speakers and subwoofers, are from Christie’s Vive Audio line-up, as are the amplifiers. The screens are Harkness Clarus XC 170 silver screens.

“We ought to underline just how exceptionally good this multiplex is, completely unique at the current moment, when it is not a common practice among many suppliers to seek excellence and offer spectators maximum quality,” said Marcos Fernández, Christie’s director for Spain and Portugal in a prepared statement.

The multiplex was engineered and integrated by Christie’s partner Ingevideo with installation by Equip de Cine.
