Academy Announces 2019–2020 Board of Governors

Editors Branch Race Between Dody Dorn and Mark Goldblatt Headed for a Runoff

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its 2019–2020 Board of Governors slate, naming the newly elected and re-elected Academy members who will assume their posts on July 1.

But one result is on hold — after a tie result from the Film Editors Branch, Dody Dorn will be up against Mark Goldblatt in a runoff election to be held June 17–19.

Each of the Academy’s 17 branches is represented by three governors, each of whom may serve up to three consecutive three-year terms. They are charged with setting strategy, preserving financial health and assuring the fulfillment of the mission of AMPAS.
