VFX supervisor Glenn Melenhorst was responsible for major sequences in one of the most monumental action set pieces in television history — the epic “Battle of the Bastards” in the latest season of Game of Thrones. What will be the biggest challenge of 2017 for the media industry? I think that there is a lot of buzz around emerging technology like VR and AR and it seems everyone is hell bent on telling stories with these new tools. Developing narrative structures for these technologies will be quite a challenge.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? There’s always some new bit of 2D or 3D software to tinker with. I like to make art for myself as well as write and illustrate for children.
