SonicPool, one of Hollywood’s leading post facilities, specializing in audio and video finishing, media duplication, online video and color correct services, offline and online edit suite rentals, and full post-production services, has announced that Brett Butler has joined the company as a Mixer. The announcement was made by John Frost and Patrick Bird, co-founders/Supervising Sound Mixers, SonicPool.
In his new post, Butler will be responsible for mixing for television shows and gaming trailers, VO recording, and sound design for various other projects.

Said Frost and Bird, “Brett Butler is a heavy weight mixer and we are very happy that he’s joined our growing company. His years of expertise are a major asset to SonicPool, and he is already building a following here in Hollywood.”
From 1998 until joining SonicPool, Brett Butler was a mixer with New York City’s Broadway Sound. During that time, he was an exclusive Sound Mixer for Showtime Networks, while also mixing for Comedy Central, the Food Network, Nickelodeon, the USA Network and the SciFi Channel.

Among the films which Butler has worked either as a Sound Engineer and/or Mixer are “Late Watch” (which premiered at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival,) “Target Audience” (which has played at over 70 international film festivals,) and “Local Color,” directed by “Bad Boys I & II” writer George Gallo.

Butler’s television promo projects have included work on “Dave Chappelle: For What It’s Worth,” “Weeds,” “The 4400,” and “Monk.” In the area of game trailers, he has worked on “Call of Duty 3” and “Scarface: The World is Yours.” Butler additionally has contributed to many DVDs, including “Viva La Bam! Season 1,” and commercials for IDT Corporation.

Butler is an expert with ProTools and Sonic Solutions. He has also performed as Voice Over talent on Cartoon Network’s “Sealab 2021″ series.” His other VO work includes performances for USA Networks, Spike TV, and Nickelodeon, with other VO recording work for Lifetime Television, MTV, Comedy Central, ESPN, and The Discovery Channel.

Butler holds a BA Degree in Film and Television Production from New York University.
