Mekanism recently added Lee Einhorn to its growing creative team to help develop and direct the firm’s innovative integrated media campaigns. A distinguished industry veteran with a significant understanding of branded entertainment, Lee made the natural progression into directing after more than 10 years experience on the agency side of brand storytelling. Prior to joining Mekanism, Lee launched and ran the branded entertainment division at Arnold in Los Angeles. The group was dedicated to helping clients think beyond traditional media channels, developing new media content for clients like Jack Daniels and Southern Comfort. Prior to that, he served as art director and creative director at Arnold in Boston, where he helped develop the award-winning Truth anti-smoking campaign. The campaign is responsible for significantly lowering teen smoking rates nationwide and is the most awarded public service campaign in history. Lee recently created the Melting Moms spot for the Truth campaign that is currently running. He also developed award-winning integrated campaigns for brands such as Monster.com.
At Mekanism, Lee will be heavily involved in writing, creative directing, and directing. Making an immediate impact, Lee is already working on a large-scale integrated web campaign for Sprint, called Connectile Dysfunction, as well as contributing to the development of a series of upcoming animated and live action shorts for PG&E’s letsgreenthiscity campaign. Lee was also involved in the animated short, Lion and Gazelle, which is part of the branding launch for Microsoft’s new Zune player. Musing on the state of branded storytelling, Lee chimes, “Content comes in all shapes and sizes. By breaking the story into pieces of content and spreading these pieces across every media channel, we are able to fully tell the story for a brand. Mekanism is at the forefront of this process, across integrated media, syndication, and branded entertainment.” Founder and Creative Director Tommy Means, says that, “Lee has an amazing background in both advertising and branded entertainment. We worked together on a bunch of projects while he was at Arnold and he really gets our branded storytelling process-across creative, production, and syndication.”

Einhorn also served as Group Creative Director at Hal Riney in San Francisco, working on the Sprint, HP and Jamba Juice brands. He oversaw integrated, multi-channel campaigns that included TV, print, outdoor, interactive, brand promotions, and grassroots marketing. His commercial awards include: The One Show, Cannes, The Andy Awards, The Art Directors Club, The Clios, The Kelly Awards, Communication Arts, AICP, Hatch Awards, and the London International Advertising Awards.
