New York-based Manic recently announced the formation of a specialized design and animation division called LAUNDRY@MANIC.
The reciprocal design/animation relationship expands Manic’s current presence and scope, allowing them to reach the west coast and now deliver a wider range of services and talent depth to its clients. Laundry is a graphic design and animation shop located in the heart of Hollywood, run by partners P.J. Richardson and Anthony Liu. Along with their CG/VFX relationship with Special Branch, the Laundry deal provides an additional dimension to the growing resources available at Manic. Discussing the new relationship, Manic’s Executive Producer/Director of Operations Rachel Kaminek notes, “We are thrilled to be able to access and offer the design talent of both P.J. and Tony. Both are very impressive artists and bring great experience from some of the industry’s top design shops.”

P.J. Richardson is a design industry veteran, spending several years at Stardust Studios prior to launching Laundry. P.J. worked at Imaginary Forces, Blind, BNS, and Logan. He contributed to works for brands such as Chevy, Microsoft, Spike, and MTV, as well as designing components for the popular Bacardi and Cola campaign. Prior to launching Laundry, Anthony Liu worked for four years as creative director at Drissi Multimedia, a prominent entertainment advertising company in Hollywood. Tony’s recent projects include You Only Live Once, a music video by the Strokes, a spot for the Borat soundtrack, directed by Ruben Fleischer, and an intricately designed commercial for Kroger’s. He also contributed to a fully interactive web game for the Nike site called Ask the LeBrons.
