After attending Wayne State University, Pillon went to work in Post Production, where he found his niche in creative editorial. "I have very fond memories, both personal and professional," Pillon said of his work at Ringside Creative/GTN and with a myriad of agencies in Detroit, including Y & R, JWT (both now part of Team Detroit), McCann Erickson, BBDO, Leo Burnett, Campbell Ewald, Doner, and Organic. "It was their faith in my work that enabled me to learn and evolve."
Pillon's credits include work for clients such as Ford, Lincoln Mercury, Pontiac, GM, Jeep, and Buick. He worked directly with BET on their TV program "Madd Sports" (Superbowl Edition).
Pillon has also edited numerous music videos, and garnered industry attention with Black Milk's "Sound the Alarm," directed by Anthony Garth. "The Black Milk video offered me the opportunity to work with a team of the highest caliber," Pillon recalled, "it's definitely one of the projects of which I am most proud."
Growing up in the household of Emmy Award-winning audio recording veteran Gary Pillon set the stage for the younger Pillon's career as an artist. "What once sounded so foreign to me as a young boy, when my father spoke about the industry, is now a language I speak fluently," Pillon said.
Regarding his decision to join Universal Images, Pillon noted, "I followed UI's reputation as a breeding ground for talent right to its doorstep, and I am looking forward to a prosperous partnership."
