Matthew Welch, an award-winning photographer whose high-profile clients include Adidas, AMEX, Nike, the Red Cross, Sony PlayStation and Apple iPod (the groundbreaking silhouette campaign), has joined Savant Film for exclusive US spot representation. He has just completed his first directing assignment with Savant, for agency BBH, with whom he previously worked on an award-winning project for AXE Game Killers.
Welch has shot celebs as diverse as Tommy Lee and Tommy Lee Jones: Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Eminem, Edward Norton, and John Waters are just a few of his subjects, who span the spectrum of arts, entertainment, sports, and music. His approach to still and moving images strives to embody classical sensibility with modern aesthetics. "My pursuit is to capture moments that endure and remain timeless," he said, "while still being relevant and timely."

Since graduating from Art Center College of Design, Welch has won numerous awards for his editorial, music and advertising photography, and has become an influential image-maker. He was one of the first featured in the PDN's inaugural "30 under 30" publication. For Esquire Magazine's final issue of the 20th century, Welch shot portraits on a timeline from 1 to 100 years of age, entitled "Century of Portraits". This earned him awards from the Art Directors of NYC and the Society of Print Designers. His iPod work garnered accolades at the Kelly awards, the One Show, and Cannes, among many others.

Welch's broadcast and stills commercial client list includes Wieden & Kennedy, BBH, Goodby Silverstein and TBWA Chiat Day. His portraiture has appeared in editorial publications such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly.
