Emmy-Award Winning 3D Artist Joins Method From Framestore-CFC

Method Studios today announced the Company signed Andy Boyd as a CG Supervisor. Most recently working as the Head of 3D Commercials with Framestore-CFC London, Boyd is a well-known 3D artist and recognized as the visual effects creative force behind high-profile campaigns such as the Daniel Kleinman-directed GUINNESS “Noitulove,” SURE/REXONA lensed by Noam Murro and ESUVEE directed by Daniel Kleinman. His official start will be July 1, 2007.
Boyd is the recipient of many industry awards including: a 2004 Primetime Emmy Award for “Dreamkeeper” in the Outstanding Visual Effects for a Mini-series, Movie or Special category, a 2005 MTV Music Awards Best Music Video for Chemical Bothers "Believe," a 2006 Visual Effects Society Outstanding Visual Effects in a Commercial for GUINNESS “Noitulove,” five additional VES nominations and a 2006 D&AD Special Effects award in the TV and Cinema Crafts category for GUINNESS “Noitulove”.

With 10 years of experience in the visual effects market, Andy’s resume also includes a stint as the person responsible for creating the digital spiders that scuttle their way through 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.” Prior to Framestore-CFC, Andy worked as the Senior Technical Director at Glassworks.

After studying Electronic Origination in South Africa, Andy worked as a Colour Retoucher in a printing bureau. It was not long before his love for animation got the better of him and he left printing to work as an animator where he gained experience working on feature film, TV series and commercials. South African by birth, Boyd started out working in Johannesburg. He arrived in London at the beginning of 2000.

Andy joins CG Creative Director Laurent Ledru and CG Technical Director Gil Baron and will be an enormous asset to the continually expanding 3D team at Method. Method has grown their CG department to 10 staffers. Over the last year, Method has added artists including Chi Wei Hsu, Matt Wheeler, Seung Joon Lee, Ryan Apuy, Matthew Longwell, Felix Urquiza, and Sean Durnan.
