Ascent Media Group announced today that Roger Beck has joined the company in the UK as Director of Film Services. In this new role, he will be assuming the management responsibilities of overseeing the film operations at Soho Images and Todd-AO. Previously CEO of Technicolor Creative Services, Beck brings with him 35 years of industry knowledge and experience.
Beck started out at Deluxe and went on to become the colourist for Ridley Scott on his first feature film ‘The Dualist’. From there he went to Thames Television and to Granada to fill the role of Head of Film Operations. He Launched Vidfilm Europe in 1994, which was acquired by Technicolor in 2002. Roger was promoted to CEO at Technicolor Creative Services UK after the acquisition.

According to Paul Collard, Vice President of Film & Digital Services, “Beck is perfect casting to head up the two labs, Soho Images and Todd-AO. Among our goals for 2008 is to take the lab business to the next level, and Roger’s appointment is a crucial part of this plan. His extensive experience and his profile in the industry will have a huge impact on both businesses and will see them working together much more closely with complimentary and integrated workflow.”
