The new POV lens was designed by the team that developed the popular Cinec 35mm T-Rex lens system

Abel Cine Tech is offering HD Scope, a Boroscope/Snorkel Lens System designed specifically for 2/3-inch B4 mount HD cameras. The HD Scope gives DPs some of the same creative possibilities enjoyed on 35mm shoots.
The company said that images captured with the HD Scope will intercut seamlessly with footage shot with any 2/3-inch optics on the market, like Zeiss DigiPrimes and Canon HD-EC series prime lenses.

Optimized for 2/3-inch CCD imagers found on cameras like Sony’s F23 and F900R, as well as Panasonic’s VariCam and HPX3000, the HD Scope is manufactured by Wolfgang Roessel of CPT in Munich, Germany, and designed by the team that developed the Cinec 35mm T-Rex lens system.

The HD Scope offers a fast T4 stop with full 360-degree image rotation (while maintaining the horizon) for tabletop work, tight spaces, unusual angles and other POV effects shots.

In addition, the image itself can be internally rotated independently 360 degrees within the frame. For complete remote control over the lens, the focus, image-rotation, pan and iris functions all have .32 pitch gear rings for connecting lens motors.

The HD Scope lenses, which range from 4mm-13mm, are now available from Abel Cine Tech for sale or rental.
