Brand New School (www.brandnewschool.com), the bicoastal directing collective, announced today the company signed Vadim Turchin as CG Supervisor for the New York office.
“I consider this to be a very significant and strategic hire for the company,” says Executive Producer Danny Rosenbloom, Brand New School. “I have long admired and respected Vadim, and I can already see our CG department responding to the maturity, creativity and leadership he brings with him.”

“Often times the CG department isn’t viewed as a partner, but as a tool to utilize,” said Turchin. “The relationship needs to be more balanced. Brand New School is looking for the opportunity to balance and treat it as an important entity rather than a simple extension of the design process.”

A nine year veteran, Turchin has worked at The Mill/NY, Mass Market, Psyop and at Rhino FX as a Senior Research and Development Technical Director. He has collaborated on high profile campaigns including Nike ‘Shoxploitation’ which garnered a 2005 AICP, GMC ‘Big Dig’ via Lowe Worldwide and Mercedes ‘Highway’ via Merkeley + Partners. His experience in film includes ‘Perfect Strangers’ and ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ as a Lead Technical Director.

Turchin is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School.
