New Service Offers Concept Through Delivery for New Media Advertising

FilmCore has launched a new Creative Services division at its studio in San Francisco. The editorial house is seeking to move beyond its niche in post-production while providing ad agencies with an alternative solution for the production of new media advertising, including advertising for the web and mobile devices, viral campaigns and branded entertainment. Services offered by the new venture will run the gamut from concept development and brand strategy through design, animation and post. It will also offer help with new media strategy and distribution.
Heading the new division is San Francsico Producer, Stephanie Bunting. It will also feature the talents of copywriter Matt Ashworth and Art Director/Designer Luis Peà±a. Bunting, Ashworth and Peà±a met while working at Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, but have been working together as independent contractors for the last few years. FilmCore editor Doug Walker will also be part of the creative team. FilmCore plans to bring on additional talent as the division gears up.

FilmCore Executive Producer Jon Ettinger, who remains in charge of the editorial side, says that agencies are seeking new models for the production of ads and partners who can help them build their clients’ brands across a variety of media platforms. “We’ve brought together a very talented group who are equally adept at broadcast and new media, and capable of taking projects from start to finish,” Ettinger observed. “We can get involved at the concept phase, carry it through all the various stages of production and post, and deliver fully integrated work with components for all distribution platforms.”

Bunting says the agency background that she, Ashworth and Peà±a bring to the venture, distinguishes it from other full-service production studios. “We really understand branding and the importance of creating a cohesive, strategically on-target message in multi-platform work,” she said. “Having all of the talent and resources of FilmCore at our fingertips is also a big advantage. It allows us to do some very cool stuff.”

Ettinger and Bunting said that for the time being the Creative Services division will remain a San Francisco venture, but it could eventually be applied to FilmCore studios in Santa Monica and New York. “San Francisco is a great place to test out the concept because the agencies in this area are very savvy about new media and are very open to new approaches and new production models,” Ettinger said.
