New Venture's West Los Angeles and Santa Clarita Locations Open For Business

Digital motion picture and post-production company PostWorks Los Angeles (www.postworksla.com) today announced the hiring of senior Hollywood colorist Scott Gregory. The announcement was made by PostWorks LA President Mike Doggett.
Over the past 12 years, Gregory has emerged as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after feature film colorists, having earned over 40 Digital Intermediate (DI) and digital cinema mastering credits on films including The Love Guru, The Bucket List, Disturbia, 2005 Best Cinematography Academy Award winner Memoirs of a Geisha, and many others. Previously a key staff artist at Burbank and Culver City-based Technicolor Digital Intermediates since soon after its launch in 2003, Gregory’s addition to PostWorks LA’s expanding operations reunites him with Doggett, with whom he previously worked at The Howard Anderson Company, Anderson Video, 4MC, and Technicolor. His focus will be theatrical color correction.

“Scott exemplifies the level of talent and customer service our company has been created to provide,” Doggett said. “He is a perfect complement to the team already in place, his track record as a Digital Intermediate Colorist speaks for itself, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with him again.”

Last October, PostWorks launched its all-new post-production operation, which has literally been designed from the ground up to leverage data-centric and future-looking technologies in offering high-end digital imaging services to theatrical, broadcast, and studio library mastering customers. Since then, its West Los Angeles facilities, located in the Tribeca West complex, have already successfully offered extensive color correction and broadcast finishing service to numerous high-profile television projects, including all 43 episodes of HBO’s sensational In Treatment series, 11 effects-heavy episodes of CBS’s The Unit, and several webisodes for ABC’s Lost.

Doggett confirmed that PostWorks LA’s DI Theater in West Los Angeles, located in the Tribeca West complex, is ready for business. Additionally, in Santa Clarita, all major systems are fully operational – with several studio mastering projects underway using an uncompressed file-based pipeline. The DI Theater in Santa Clarita is set to come online in a matter of days.

Gregory is joining fellow PostWorks LA staff colorists, Pankaj Bajpai, whose credits include In Treatment, Rome, Carnivà le, and Sex and the City, and Scott Ostrowsky, whose credits as broadcast finish colorist include Heroes, Boston Legal, and Crossing Jordan, and whose remastering credits include West Side Story, Lawrence of Arabia, and Bridge on the River Kwai, among many others. With high-bandwidth connectivity between both locations also imminent, Doggett further confirmed that staff colorists will be available to host sessions in color correction suites at either location depending upon client needs.

“Clearly, PostWorks LA offers a unique opportunity,” Gregory said. “I am joining a group of highly regarded and experienced professionals, building something state of the art, using today’s best technologies and practices. I see the opportunity to serve our customers in newer and better ways.”
