New York-based production company A Very Small Office (AVSO) is pleased to announce the recent addition of Director Vincent Haycock. Before joining AVSO, Vincent designed and directed via a number of acclaimed companies including Digital Kitchen, Vitamin, and Juxtapoz Magazine.
Co-Founder/EP Saffron Case comments, “Vince has a strong understanding of advertising and visual aesthetic. His skill-set and ability to see things others don’t fits in perfectly with our vision for AVSO – a small, core group of creative thinkers. We’re excited to have him in the family and are looking forward to helping guide his filmmaking career.”

Vincent’s most recent directing effort for the British indie rock band Editors for their single Racing Rats off their second album, An End Has a Start was recently nominated for best direction in the Best International Video category at the 2008 MVPA’s. The moody video opens with the band performing in a suburban utopia. When the lead singer approaches a cherubic child chalking the pavement, she inquisitively points to the sun which is simultaneously being eclipsed by the moon. All is soon near dark, as bits of light from the sun spotlight each member of the band.

Co-Founder/Director Mikon van Gastel notes, “Vince is such a unique, versatile talent. His use of light and movement on both the design and live action fronts make his work truly one of a kind. Understated and effective, Vince’s impact will certainly be felt within the advertising and entertainment communities.”

“I’m happy to be at such a creatively-driven company,” noted Haycock. “A lot of companies say they are, but end up getting too big and have to sacrifice quality for quantity. AVSO is a boutique shop and isn’t looking to outgrow its name…and that’s just fine by me.”

Recent commercial credits include: Sony, Budweiser, Nike, and Infiniti. Not confined to spots and music videos, Haycock’s diverse skill-set has led to an Emmy nomination for work on the main sequence of the FX series, Nip/Tuck. Prior, Vincent created the opening titles for David Fincher’s Fight Club and The Game.
