Man, the show floor hasn’t even opened yet and there are already announcements coming along fast and furious. The coolest things thus far seem to be the new products from AJA and Matrox. There’s the AJA io Express and Ki Pro that look particularly interesting. Matrox has the MXO2 Mini that is intriguing as well. I won’t rehash what has already been posted all over the ‘net already so check out the coverage from Final Cut User and FreshDV for specs and comments.

Adobe is making a big push with Flash at the NAB to bring it into your living room among other things. But I’m most interesting in seeing Adobe new software product Adobe Story. They are supposed to be previewing the new app which is a “collobrative screenwriting” application. It should be included in new versions of the Creative Suite (does that mean CS5 or added to CS4? … I don’t know) and will take on Final Draft for screenwriting duties but also add some kind of integration from concept through production to post. According to Adobe it will also be sold as a standalone product as well. I don’t think much is known about it at this point but I defintely plan to ask about it at the Adobe booth.  I think about something like Adobe Story and then think about this Apple storyboard software patent that popped up a while back and it seem like 2 of the 3 big A’s might gearing toward helping filmmakers all the way from concept to completion.
