HBO Archives announced the new Premiere Collection, offering licensed B-roll and outtakes from three decades of HBO programming. The newly available clips include period recreations, landscapes and urban vistas, and more.

“The quality of our Premiere Collection comes from some of the highest profile HBO projects of the last 25 years,” said Senior VP Barbara Thomas in a prepared statement. "The collection contains premium shot, film-backed and HD-native footage of iconic landmarks, establishing shots, stunt sequences, period recreations, nature and lifestyles.” As examples, the company said clips were available from such HBO films, series, and miniseries as John Adams, Entourage, Recount, Temple Grandin, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, and The Special Relationship.

The company says "nearly all" material in the new collection was sourced from HD or 35mm. Several thousand clips have already been digitized and added to the collection, and more are being added from new productions. For more information, visit www.hboarchives.com/contemporary.
