Redrock Micro has partnered with Canon to build a new ultraCage | Blue to hold Canon's just-announced EOS C100 HD camera when it's displayed at IBC starting later this week.

The new cage was designed to maintain compatibility with the rest of Redrock's "ultra" line of rig components and accessories, including parts that work with the Canon C300 and DSLRs such as a rear chassis extension, a rear mounting plate for an external battery or data recorder, a follow focus, and a remote focus control.

The ultraCage C100 is available by itself or as part of a complete rig configuration. Rig options include the ultraEvent handheld rig, the ultra Field Cinema Bundle shoulder-mount rig, and the ultraCage Studio Bundle for shooting on tripods, dollies, jibs and cranes.

"Canon approached us to create a support system that would match the form, style and pricing level of the EOS C100," said Redrock Micro's James Hurd. The ultraCage starts at $550 and is slated to ship at the end of October.
