Music, sound and audio production company Brahmstedt White Noise (BWN) is excited to announce the addition of two key talents, composers Justin Asher and Annie Holoien. Asher is based on the company's Los Angeles office, while Holoien is located in the new studio in downtown Minneapolis. Both bring extensive experience in commercial, long-format and independent music production combining the hard knocks of live performance and touring with the pleasantries of the in-studio creative.
"Working at BWN with (Founders) Ken (Brahmstedt) and Carl (White) is great for so many reasons; they are talented, fast and clients love them," says Annie Holoien. "I am excited to be a part of this growing company and to merge my music experience with growing studio skills."

A native of Fargo, ND, Annie Holoien moved to Minneapolis in 1996. A true music lover, she was a classically trained pianist at a young age and moved on to electric guitars and drums in high school. She is an avid record collector who has been in several rock & roll bands; most recently The Soviettes with whom she toured the United States several times, co-wrote a handful of singles, and recorded three full length albums (two for Billie Joe Armstrong[of Green Day]'s Adeline Records, and one for "Fat Mike"[of NOFX and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes]'s Fat Wreck Chords in San Francisco, CA.

She continues to appear as a guest vocalist for bands locally and nationally, as well as lending her talents to agencies via BWN, and stepping outside of the Rock and Roll box to compose music in many genres. Through it all, she has been privy to some of the best albums, bands, and live concerts, which makes her a great addition BWN's staff.

Justin Asher adds: "We share a similar approach to composing, which makes for a really rewarding experience. Additionally, Ken and Carl are both so technically savvy that they can focus their energy on the creative content and seamless collaboration, whether in the next room or thousands of miles away."

On the gritty streets of New York, Justin Asher was part of a gang of teenage orchestrators who protected their turf with score paper, rulers and very sharp pencils. Rival gangs were forced to write out parts and contract players. Determined to keep him away from these troublemakers, his mother forced him into piano lessons and encouraged him to listen to rap music. When piano and hip hop proved insufficient his mother added guitar and percussion. It wasn't until the threat of trombone however that Justin packed off to college.

Lucky to get out of the hood with only a few minor French horn revisions he attended Purchase Conservatory and earned a Bachelor degree in Studio Composition where he learned the deadly art of electro-manipulation and began touring as a multi-instrumentalist hired gun during breaks. He continued after graduation crossing the US a dozen times and conquering Europe, Russia, the Middle East plus the NY avante-garde and salsa scenes. Between tours he engineered, played on and produced critically acclaimed records for Touch and Go, Koch international, Island/Def Jam, Tzadik, Knitting Factory and Munich Europe.

But the little gangster in JJ never died. He headed to LA in 2003 determined to put on his composer colors and throw down. He brawled for Slogan music until he joined the bloodthirsty BWN syndicate.
