Signs Optic Flavor Studio Team Of Nine Animators/Designers

Chomet, Inc. has significantly expanded its 3D graphics department with the signing of Optic Flavor Studio and its VFX team which will work exclusively with Chomet in the United States.

Chomet, a leader in providing creative and technical services in editorial and graphics to the corporate, broadcasting and cable, music video and commercial industries, has incorporated a fully fledged visual effects department to keep up with growing client demand for 3D animation, motion graphics and visual effects.

“Until now, we've had to outsource our 3D work, but in today's visual effects market it is vital to be a full-service operation and implement all of our clients' wants and needs. With more and more of our clients asking for high definition 3D work, we knew it was time to have these services in-house. Chomet now has the capacity to handle much larger projects in-house,” explained Chomet Founder and President, Michael Chomet. “The addition of the Optic Flavor team, an extraordinarily creative and talented group, has expanded our capabilities. We can now field anything our clients challenge us with. It's a very exciting time at Chomet and we are proud to be a well-integrated SD and HD shop,” he added.

Chomet and Optic Flavor now offer a range of creative services including editorial, 3D animation, 2D animation, complex visualizations, compositing, and photo-realistic renders for broadcast and cable, corporate, commercial, film, music video, gamming and web clients.

Based in Chomet’s new and expanded studio in midtown Manhattan are Optic Flavor Creative Director/Co-Owner Stephan Zlotescu, VFX Supervisor Jim Yeo and Project Coordinator Shamim Seifzadeh. Chomet Producer Bethel Dudt will act as Project Manager handling the interface with all Chomet clients.

Conceptualization, modeling, rigging, lighting and texturing, compositing and animating shading of 3D projects will be handled by VFX Supervisor/Co-Owner Vlad Caprini; 3D Animators Andre Ilie and Bogdan Diaconu; Modeling/Rigging Catalin Otelea; Texuring/Lighting/Compositing Iulian Purcaru; and Particles/Dynamics/Hair/Liquid Razvan “Brazil” Vasilache, who are based at Optic Flavor’s render facility in Europe.

Chomet’s primary effects tools, running on high-end graphics PC work stations, include Maya, After Effects, Z-Brush, Shake, Boujou, Softimage XSI, Deep Paint 3D, Vue 6 Infinite, Corel Painter IX, Poser, Mudbox and Flash.

On signing with Chomet, Stefan Zlotescu stated, "Vlad Caprini and I created Optic Flavor and assembled our group of artists with the goal of outsourcing VFX/3D animation projects from United States. Michael offered us the opportunity to essentially be the graphics arm of his company and the offer was simply impossible to refuse.”

Having completed several projects including the promotion and advertising for American hip-hop producer/rapper Swizz Beatz, pre-visualization for a spot which transformed origami into furniture, a short animated movie Brainy Boyz, the 3D architectural visualization of Christmas decorations for the Intercontinental Hotel in Europe, logo animations, and several spec spots, Optic Flavor is currently at work on their first project under the Chomet banner, an 18-hour high definition (with an additional 18 alternative versions) self-help series of inspirational tapes for the Life Book Center.
