Identity is pleased to welcome the talents of sheet metal specialist, Jacques Steyn. Jacques has worked in all varieties of filmmaking including: documentaries, television, commercials and feature films on just about every continent over the globe. He is founding member of the German Film Academy, as well as a founding member of the production company Radical Images Productions GmbH, which has produced, directed and photographed hundreds of commercials and a multitude of long form projects. Keeping a hand in every aspect of the film community, Steyn's critical skills were utilized when he was asked to serve as member of the jury for the Deutsche Filmpreis in 2006. Jacques' skilled eye and expertise have continually landed him work as director/DP on major international car campaigns with such clients as Audi, Buick, Lamborghini, Nissan, Mercedes, Porsche, and Toyota. Owner/EP Joe Masi notes, "We're incredibly fortunate to land such a powerhouse as Jacques. This is his first American roost, and we're eager to showcase his precision filmmaking to stateside agencies."
Jacques is a multi-award winning talent. His highly successful feature film Out of Order received a Deutsche Filmpreis, which is the German equivalent of an Oscar, for best cinematography. Other features he has worked on have received a best photography award at The Madrid Film Festival, and he has won the Cologne Film Award for his documentary, The Potemkische Stadt. Steyn's commercial work hasn't gone unnoticed either, receiving two silver and a bronze World Medal in 2001 and 2002, as well as several Ottocar Autovision awards. "I feel so at home here in the states," quipped Steyn. "I've traversed the globe, and now I'm looking forward to spending some quality time here getting to know the American advertising climate."
