Bicoastal International Crossroads recently added director Sanaa Hamri to their Commercial and Music Video divisions. Formerly of Anonymous Content, Hamri is currently in post production on her second feature film, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, starring Amber Tamblyn and America Ferrera of Ugly Betty fame. Sanaa has directed multiple episodes of ABC's Desperate Housewives, as well as Mariah Carey's live concert documentary, The Adventures of Mimi, now available on DVD. Her recent commercial credits include spots for Coors Light, and AT&T as well as music video clips for Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Prince, Jay Z, Alicia Keys, Sting, Lenny Kravitz and India.Arie. "Sanaa is the kind of artist you gravitate towards. Her ability to direct any type of project, coupled with a passion and conviction about the world make her an empathetic storyteller with the ability to delve deep in to the psyche of any subject," commented Crossroads Partner/EP Cami Taylor.
Hamri is hailed as a visionary in her field. Having once been an editor for the likes of celebrated music vid directors Paul Hunter and Hype Williams, Sanaa has worked tirelessly to reinvent the image of humankind by approaching subject matter that pushes through the limitations of stereotype. Sanaa feels passionately about presenting positive youth-driven work in order to educate kids about the potential realities possible, instead of the negative images that are bombarded by the media today. Crossroads Executive Producer Joseph Uliano comments on the addition, “Sanaa is a multi-faceted director that edits her own work, can direct in five languages and works in everything from Live Concerts to narrative storytelling. We’re fortunate to have such a smart, skilled, multi-disciplined talent on our roster. At Crossroads we.re constantly seeking to create meaningful and insightful work which expands the reaches of our understanding; Hamri is here to help us accomplish just that.”
