MOG Solutions plans to make MXF simple for HD production professionals at NAB.
The Material eXchange Format (MXF) is a new technical standard for interchanging media and metadata. The idea is to use this "wrapped" metadata to dramatically improve production and post-production workflows.
At NAB, MOG Solutions will show its latest developments in streamlining HD workflows, which it says are only achievable when using MXF. This includes new software developer kits (SDKs) to integrate HD and Digital Cinema processes and a series of MXF-based applications to boost productivity in MXF-based HD workflows.
In booth #SU5169, MOG will demonstrate its new MXF::IO for Matrox's DSX SDK, which gives Matrox OEM boards the capability to leverage MXF in their solutions. This new DSX MXF software enables reading and writing MXF files with Sony e-VTR and XDCAM, Panasonic P2 and Ikegami EditCam compatible MXF files.
MOG will also introduce MXF2AVI, a tool that converts MXF DV-based files into AVI; the MXFMerger, which concatenates several MXF files into one, based on input timecode; and MXFKeyFrameExtractor, used to extract a keyframe from a specific timecode reference.
