Adds Convenience and Flexibility to 7-Series Line of Recorders

Sound Devices is debuting its new CL-2 Boom Pole Remote Fader for the 788T digital audio recorder at NAB 2009 (Booth N6129). The CL-2 is a powerful addition to the 788T and provides added convenience and flexibility to location recording or any application employing a boom microphone.
“We are constantly working with our customers to learn how we can make our products even more valuable for their work,” says Jon Tatooles, managing director of Sound Devices. “The CL-2 carries on this tradition by addressing the needs of sound mixers working with boom microphones, giving them a convenient remote level control for any input or track.”
The CL-2 Boom Pole Remote Fader is a remote control and fader accessory for the 788T that straps directly to a microphone boom pole. Connecting to the 788T’s proprietary C.Link port (Control Link), the CL-2 offers a single, 60mm fader which can be programmed to control any input or track on the 788T. There are also two, two-position switches on the remote control unit that can be programmed to operate several critical functions on the 788T, including remote record activation. The CL-2 is powered by the C.Link port. It is scheduled for availability in June 2009.

Sound Devices’ 788T digital audio recorder is designed specifically for multi-track, on-location productions and features a significant expansion of input and output capability – eight full-featured microphone inputs and 12 tracks of recording. In a stainless-steel and aluminum chassis weighing less than four pounds and roughly the size of a hard-covered novel, the 788T accommodates individual controls and connectors for each of its eight inputs, plus numerous additional I/O and data connections.
