New York’s Version2 welcomes into the fold Mark Thomas of affinity film and previously of AHT Productions. With a diverse career across both film and commercial production, and editorial, the New Zealand native brings a diverse range of expertise and talent to the worlds of both post production and editing. Mark began his editorial career in Australia, developing a long and impressive resume as he traveled and worked extensively throughout Australasia, North America, and Europe. An innovator in both the creative and technological advancement of the editorial process, Mark gained a powerful reputation as a world-class commercial film editor. He has worked on a long list of landmark projects with renowned directors that include Ian McKenzie and Jeff Darling and brands such as Coca-Cola Nestea, Nivea, and Cadbury Mentos. Version2 Owner Vito DeSario notes, “We were really impressed with Mark’s body of work. He has worked with some of the world’s best filmmakers and he will be a welcome addition to our team.” The addition of Thomas serves to significantly broaden the editorial roster and position the production capabilities of Version2’s recently launched VFX division.
Before joining the team at Version2, Mark launched Sydney-based affinity film where he worked on major projects within Australasia, North America, Europe, and throughout the Asian region. Mark’s path stemmed from an innate desire to work more diversely, creatively, and flexibly and followed a successful stretch as an independent film editor and post production supervisor around the globe.

Prior, Mark teamed up with long-time collaborator Karl Sodersten to establish the Sydney based offline editing and Post Production facility Karl Marks. For ten years, Mark was co-owner and managing partner of a company which endures to this day as the Southern Hemisphere’s most internationally renowned and highly-regarded film editing company of the era, with a worldwide reputation for creative excellence and professionalism.

Mark’s intimate understanding and technical knowledge of all aspects of the filmmaking process and his insight into delicate and highly-specialized post production processes is invaluable in dealing with the intricacies of contemporary film production for a global clientele. This is especially true in diverse locations and variable working conditions. He brings a calm, optimistic nature, creative vitality, and the ability to create and manage a collaborative working environment to all projects.
