Autodesk, Inc. today announced the second
extension for its Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 software, the foremost
real-time 3D character animation and 3D storytelling solution for game,
film and broadcast production. The second extension delivers enhanced
performance and stability, new features and functionality, as well as
additional platform support for the Intel-based Macintosh operating system
and the 64-bit Windows XP operating system. The extension is planned to be
available for download to all Autodesk MotionBuilder Platinum members later
this month.
As entertainment pipelines become more complex and datasets increase in
size, MotionBuilder allows artists to interactively animate and visualize
characters, and provides out-of-the-box solutions to complex animation
challenges.

Autodesk MotionBuilder Extension 2: Key New Features
New performance enhancements in Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 Extension 2
accelerate complex, high-quality animation projects. Animators will benefit
from improved load speeds for file input/output, and optimizations for
plotting and faster scene evaluation.

New features and functionality in the extension also enhance motion capture
solving and character animation. The new Biped Template enables 3ds Max
software users to quickly rig their Biped characters in MotionBuilder.
Furthermore, a new finger solver in the Actor toolset allows animators to
apply optical marker data to a character's fingers in real time.

Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 Extension 2 offers support for additional
hardware technologies and operating systems, including Mac OS X as a
universal binary application, and Windows XP 64-bit and 32-bit operating
systems. Support for Intel-based Macintosh and PowerPC computers provides
customers with additional options as they build their ideal pipeline, while
support for Windows XP 64-bit enhances customer capabilities and
performance when working with large and complex scene data.
