Developers at The Foundry have been busy since acquiring the popular plug-in Nuke last year. The latest version, Nuke 5, features a new user interface, Python scripting, expanded LUT support for file I/O colorspace conversion, and mega-channel support (you can read, process and write to more than 1,000 channels). In response to the rising trend of live action productions shot in 3D, The Foundry has also added support for stereoscopic workflows, which it hopes will make for more efficient multi-view compositing. Available now for the Linux, Windows, and Mac platforms. $3,500. Additional render nodes are $250 each. Existing Nuke customers with a maintenance subscription can upgrade for free.
