Customizable Editorial Set-Up Includes Monitors, Mixers, and Final Cut Stations

Thinking about hitting the road for a project with exotic locations and tight deadlines? Media Distributors has devised The Remote Station, a turnkey video-editing and storage-management system that can be packed up in two Anvil-style road cases.
The Remote Station includes a Panasonic SD/HD-SDI video monitor, Genelec reference speakers, a Mackie audio mixer, and Apple Mac Pros loaded with Final Cut Studio 2. The accessory-case lid can be detached to form an on-location editorial desk.

Storage can be custom-tailored to the job. The first production to use the Remote Station, was the 30th-anniversary Ford Ironman Triathlon shot at an isolated location in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and broadcast last weekend on NBC. That project made use of four Final Cut systems connected to a high-speed SAN via 4 Gb fibre.

Media Distributors CEO Steve Klein said the system can be scaled all the way up to demanding 4:4:4 HD or 4K jobs.
