New Update Adds Log Gamma to GY-LS300, New 70 Mbps Recording Mode and Histogram to All Models

JVC posted the new version 2.0 firmware update for its GY-LS300, GY-HM200, and GY-HM170 camcorders.

The new firmware adds JVC Log gamma, true 4K (4096×2180) and 2K (2048×1080) 17:9 recording modes, and JVC's Prime Zoom feature to the LS300. Prime Zoom uses JVC's Variable Scan Mapping to adjust the active area of the camera's CMOS sensor—it's a sort of electronic lens extender.

New for all three cameras is a histogram display and a new 70 Mbps 4K recording option.
