avchd.jpgThe latest upgrade to Final Cut Pro, version 6.0.1 now supports capturing of AVCHD format video, but with more than a few catches. Functionality is a bit constricted, limiting AVCHD capturing to Intel-based Macs only, and it must be transcoded to the ProRes 422 codec or the Apple Intermediate Codec. Additionally, AVCHD video files must be captured in their entirety. For a full list of limitations, check out this official Apple document about transferring AVCHD footage.
