Avid Qualifies Final Cut Pro to Run on Avid Unity and ISIS
As part of its continuing efforts to provide customers with flexible and open solutions, Avid ® (NASDAQ: AVID) today announced that it has qualified Apple Final Cut Pro editing solutions to run on Avid Unity™ MediaNetwork and ISIS ® shared storage systems. Post facilities, broadcasters and other media content creation organizations using Final Cut Pro can now take advantage of the industry-leading shared storage and collaborative workflow capabilities of Avid Unity and ISIS, and benefit from simultaneously running Avid and Final Cut Pro editing solutions on the same shared storage system. These newly-supported and highly-tested workflows will enable customers to centralize storage on a single solution, streamline operations and cost-effectively manage production workflows.
Avid Announces Third-Party Integrations
Avid today unveiled a number of new integrations with third parties, designed to give customers more infrastructure and format flexibility within their broadcast and post production workflows. Omneon, Panasonic, Sony and RED are among the companies that will demonstrate new workflow integrations with Avid at the National Association of Broadcasters Show this week. This collaborative development is part of the company's ongoing commitment to provide open solutions that work with a majority of third-party formats, plug-ins and technologies, ultimately placing greater flexibility and choice in customers' hands.
Matrox Announces CompressHD for Mac and PC
Matrox Video Products Group today announced Matrox CompressHD™, the first implementation of Matrox MAX™ technology in an H.264 accelerator card for the Mac and PC, priced at just $495 US. Matrox MAX technology uses a dedicated hardware processor to accelerate the creation of H.264 files for mobile devices, the web and Blu-ray discs. By using specialized hardware acceleration, jobs are finished with amazing speed and system resources are liberated for other tasks. Matrox CompressHD works in systems with or without a video I/O device. On the Mac, ease of use is ensured through direct integration with Apple Compressor on the Mac. As an added benefit, the Matrox MAX technology allows direct export to higher-quality H.264 Blu-ray compliant files from Compressor. For PC, ease of use is ensured through direct integration with Adobe ® Media Encoder software on the PC.

AJA Announces Ki Pro Portable Digital Disk Recorder
AJA Video Systems, a leading manufacturer of professional video interface and conversion solutions, today announced Ki Pro, a portable tapeless video device that records files to the Apple ProRes 422 codec directly from camera.
