Tippett Studio on Dell Precision Workstations

Tippett Studio, known for creating dazzling visual effects and character animation for box office hits such as Jurassic Park, Starship Troopers, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and, most recently, the Twilight series and Ted, leverage Dell Precision™ workstations to deliver workflow efficiencies, better simulations and desired resolution.

When they moved from Apple to Dell, Tippett Studio quickly realized the benefits, including a 20% increase in artist efficiency, 30% faster effects renders and an overall infrastructure cost reduction. They utilize proprietary and off-the-shelf software, such as Autodesk® Maya®, and The Foundry’s Nuke, Mari and Katana products, and also Pixar’s RenderMan® as the primary renderer.

Dell Precision workstations, equipped with Intel® Xeon® processors, deliver the flexibility and high performance value that Tippett Studio requires to run their various software programs and both Red Hat and Windows® operating systems. These powerful workstations are also included in their render farm for nightly renders.

This looks a lot like a press release.

(but I completely agree on the superiority and power of flexibility provided by PCs)

This is a nice PC but no better than HP. We have both HP and Dell the only difference was HP cost less money.
