Colorist Kent Pritchett Joins Colorflow
Berkeley, CA—February 22, 2013—Colorflow, a full-service post-production company specializing in color grading for independent films, documentaries, long-form television and similar projects, has hired Kent Pritchett as Lead Colorist. Pritchett brings close to 20 years of experience in color grading and A-list credits spanning major motion pictures, independent films, animation and episodic television.
Most recently, Pritchett has been working successfully as a freelance colorist and as such has completed several projects at Colorflow. They include Heatstroke, a new suspense thriller from Bold Films, producers of Drive, and Born this Way, a documentary from directors Shaun Kadlec and Deb Tullmann set to debut at this year’s Berlin Film Festival. Other recent credits include Paperman for Disney Feature Animation, a current Academy Award nominee for Best Animated Short.
“Kent has a long history of successful collaborations with world-class directors and cinematographers,” said Colorflow Managing Director Alexander Black. “He has worked with us on several projects with fantastic results.”
Pritchett has practiced his craft at studios and post production facilities worldwide, including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Industrial Light & Magic and Encore Hollywood. His historical credits include final grading for Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith along with the remastering of the Star Wars Trilogy and Beauty and the Beast. In 2011, he served as a color consultant with Colorfront’s On-Set-Dailies system on feature films for Deluxe, Technicolor and Disney. Equally comfortable in the commercial grading chair, he recently finished campaigns for Toyota and Salesforce.
Additionally, Pritchett served for five years as an Application Specialist for Autodesk Media & Entertainment Division, focusing on the grading and finishing systems Lustre, Smoke and Flame. In that role, he provided training, technical and creative support to facilities around the globe.
In discussing his decision to accept a permanent post at Colorflow, Pritchett cited the resources of its new facility and focus on creativity. “As soon as I met the team, I wanted to be part of what they are building,” he says. “I have worked in hundreds of facilities all over the planet and I know what delivers, what environment works best —and this is it.”

A graduate of the University of Georgia, Pritchett began his career with Crawford Communications in Atlanta. He later joined Digital Magic, Los Angeles, and then The Post Group, Hollywood, where he cut his teeth on a number of classic television shows including Sliders, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman; Northern Exposure and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Additionally, Pritchett spent four years freelancing between Australia and New Zealand.
