Press Release

After a successful run at the London office of Final Cut, Editor Alex Hagon has relocated to the company's New York location. He will join the acclaimed roster, which includes Carlos Arias, Mike Colao, Sarah Iben, Akiko Iwakawa, Gary Knight and Jeff Stevens.
"Alex is an experienced and versatile editor having worked on national commercials, long format work, and music videos," comments Stephanie Apt, Final Cut President. "He shares the same artistic and business sensibilities that we do, as well as being a supportive and collaborative person to have as part of the New York team. He already has an impressively loyal following here based on his previous and ongoing work in the States."
Hagon, who has been with the Final Cut/London since early 2004, notes that the company's fantastic reputation for creative talent has been successfully upheld since the opening of the New York office in 2000 and he's excited to broaden his career in the US.
"I've found that an increasing number of the directors I work with in London are now working in the States so it is an easy transition for me," explains Hagon. "Also, I'm excited about working with diverse American directors."
Alex Hagon launched his editing career at Red Square Editing shortly after graduating from college. He worked his way up from assistant to editor contributing to music videos and commercials. In 2000, Hagon became a partner in the company and handled the day-to-day running of the business in addition to editing full-time.
Notable jobs include commercials for Saab, working with diverse directors such as Matthias Hoene of Partizan, Luc Besson of Saville Productions, Stewart Douglas of Nice Shirt, as well as campaigns for Renault, Hyundai, Archers, BBC and IKEA.
Recent projects via Final Cut/London include a 20-minute short film for Nissan, which was directed by Patrick Bergh of Partizan and will be released on the 24 DVD. The project is being promoted as both a sponsorship identity for Nissan and as a film. Hagon is currently working on six spots for GMC via ad agency Lowe, which are directed by The Cronenworths of Untitled.
"While I have moved to a different location, I plan to maintain links with my existing clients and welcome the opportunity to be 'tri-coastal," concludes Hagon. "I will still get involved with projects early in development and work closely with directors on storyboards and postproduction solutions. Final Cut's ideal of enabling their editors to move freely between the three cities, and opening them to different influences ensures that the work is always fresh, innovative and full of variety."
