When Sylvie Von Duuglas-Ittu first went to Thailand, she set a goal of participating in 50 Muay Thai fights. As she approached that number, she reset her expectations to 100. Now she’s looking at 200. In this short film, she discusses how training in a foreign (and sometimes frankly sexist) culture affected her thinking on spirituality, feminism, and sportsmanship. Director Simon Mulvaney tells the story with a Sony a7s ii mirrorless camera, a DJI Mavic Pro drone, Adobe Premiere Pro — and, most importantly, Duuglas-Ittu’s own words.
