AJA KONA 3G Now Supports True 4K Playout via Free Version 9.0 Driver Software

Las Vegas, NV, NAB Conference, Booth SL4420 (April 11, 2011) – AJA Video Systems, a leading manufacturer of professional video interface and conversion solutions, today announced the new 4K Mode for the KONA 3G capture card. Available with new Version 9.0 driver software for KONA 3G, the 4K Mode supports true 4K playout and monitoring. KONA 3G is a multi-format SD/HD/Dual Link/3G and 2K video I/O solution delivering unrivaled flexibility for professional video and audio applications. KONA 3G was released in Fall 2010, with thousands of units already in use around the world.

The 4K Mode in KONA 3G is elegant and simple. Setting a new standard for quality in 4K monitoring, KONA 3G offers 4K playback in both YCbCr and RGB, at resolutions up to 4096×2160. When 4K playout is selected, the four SDI connectors on the KONA 3G are remapped as outputs for driving four quadrants of a 4K display.

4K Mode for KONA 3G is available now via the free Version 9.0 driver software for KONA 3G (Mac); a PC supported version will be available at a later date. US MSRP for KONA 3G is $1995 and the optional breakout box, K3G-Box, is $395.
